Padel tennis originated in Mexico. As a racket-holding event against the net, padel tennis has various styles, strong interest, and strong fitness functions and enjoyment. Padel tennis was introduced to China in 2016, as an emerging sport, padel tennis has broad development prospects in my country, but the lack of standards is not conducive to the promotion of sports.Nowadays, as uncertain factors in the international environment are increasing, building a new development pattern with the domestic big cycle as the main body and the domestic and international double cycles mutually promoting each other can better guarantee economic security and continue to expand the space for sports development. For this reason, China Tennis Association initiated the "Requirements and Inspection Methods for padel Tennis Fields" group standard development plan.

On April 20, 2021, the Tennis Management Center of the State General Administration of Sports and the Chinese Tennis Association officially approved the release of the group standard "Requirements and Inspection Methods for padel Tennis Fields", the standard number: T/WQTB 1002-2021. This standard was proposed and managed by the Chinese Tennis Association and will be formally implemented on June 6, 2021.

T/WQTB 1002—2021 "Requirements and Inspection Methods for padel Tennis Fields" The group standard stipulates the use requirements, inspection methods and qualification rules for padel tennis courts. It is suitable for padel tennis courts for competition, training and recreational fitness. The standard was jointly drafted by many units including production, manufacturing, operations, and public interest parties. The content of the standard has been drafted with Chinese characteristics on the basis of following international rules, realizing the introduction and promotion of a "win-win" situation. The official release of this standard has made up for the blank of my country's padel tennis court standard, standardized the construction of padel tennis court facilities, and played the functional role of the venue in sports promotion.
